Blair has been a Marriage Celebrant for 5 years now, and is a celebrant who really enjoys his work.

He has done weddings in various venues from backyard events to a grand Chapel, and each has been spoken of very highly by the bride and groom.

Blair holds a Bachelor of Business, and of course, a Certificate IV in Celebrancy. He is an international referee for the sport Lacrosse, and has represented Australia on many occasions around the world.

He has a warm presence, and is keen for couples to choose the right person for their ceremony. He is fine with just having a chat about what you want to do, even if your proposed ceremony is years away.

His process starts with suggesting the couple and he meet for a coffee to discuss what he can do for them, and what ideas they have.

He will make it very clear that the wedding is for the couple, and not for him. He will talk about the level of romance and humour, and how a balance in these is the key to a good ceremony. Blair will also lead you through the various things that need to be done to ensure a beautiful wedding ceremony.

Before the meeting he will have explained the fee he charges if the couple proceeds, and that there is no obligation to proceed with him. He will also have suggested the couple agree to let him know by email within a week of the meeting if they wish to proceed. This makes it easier for those who may be a little shy, and also would help Blair by either booking or clearing the date for another couple.

About Blair Fraser

The Process

  1. We meet over coffee to discuss the type of ceremony desired and what level of romance and formality. The "Notice of Intended Marriage" can be completed at this time.

  2. I prepare and email a draft of the ceremony, from the initial conversation.

  3. You email back any changes, and I prepare the ceremony.

  4. Two or three days before the ceremony, a further document attesting to the voluntary nature of the marriage needs to be signed. This can coincide with a rehearsal of the ceremony.

  5. On the day I attend between 30 to 60 minutes before the ceremony to ensure everything is under control.  If it is not under control, I get it under control.

  6. I perform the ceremony and we sign the relevant documents.

  7. I lodge the documents with the Office of Births, Deaths and Marriage (within 14 days of the ceremony, but I normally send them on the Monday following the ceremony).

  8. You both live happily ever after.

  9. Creating exactly the type of ceremony you desire is of the utmost importance to me. Total preparation time on my side is usually about 20 hours.
