It was at the tail end of a lengthy conversation with Ed Hervey last week that the Edmonton Eskimos’ general manager mentioned Rennie Curran.
I had asked Hervey if he had any interest in bringing back either of linebacker Rod Davis or kicker Derek Schiavone; two former Eskimos who had gone to Montreal in the past year, with both being released by the Alouettes last week. Hervey shot that idea down and as the small group of media present stood up to leave the room, Hervey said again he wasn’t interested in bringing Davis back. He was interested in Rennie Curran as his linebacker.
